Riad Brummell is a dreamy and unique little Riad Palace in a quiet street near all the major attractions like the Dar el Bacha palace or Jardin Secret. It is the real deal for traditional 19th century architecture mixed with bespoke furniture and art using local materials such as tadelakt and hand pured terrazo floors.
Our Riad is a stunning 5 room retreat with a gorgeous central patio courtyard with superb arcades, unique designed water fountains and lush plants, a hammam, and a rooftop terrace to cocoon after busy hours in the Medina. Riad Brummell boasts a unique ambience and authenticity, outstanding, cosy and comfortable.
Riad Brummell is a four-sided 19th century (1880) Palace with real history and charm. This genuine Riad has harmonic proportions and neoclassical mauresque architecture mixed with modern restoration updates from Barcelona based architect: Claudia Raurell. The arcaded cursives from the 19th century and the sublime “waha o gayza” ceilings are outstanding. In addition, there is a small traditional hammam in terrazo in the mezzanine floor.
The traditional aesthetic is complemented by design pieces such as the Italian 60s classic Pipistrello on the rooftop, Marset’s Aura glass lamps in the rooms, a marble applique from Mallorca’s Contain Estudio at reception and Egon Eierman’s renown foldable chairs which are the protagonist of all Brummell Projects breakfast rooms. On-site made terrazzo stone floors join smoothly together with the famous Moroccan artisan traditional tadelakt material.
The annexed sister property, the “Annex House”, is a beautiful addition to the main Riad. This fantasy house is newly renovated by Moroccan multi-artist Rachid Bargamane: 4 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, a high terrace with beautiful views, and a plunge pool to be rented entirely.
Riad Brummell is right between the lushest Medina streets at Dar el Bacha and the authentic square called Riad Laarous. It is an exciting 5 minutes’ walk from the taxi stand to Riad Brummell. One of the nicest and well-known restaurants like Le Jardin, Terrasse des Épices or Limoni are literally a 4 minutes’ walk away. 10 more minutes walking and you land in the middle of the most famous square called Jemaa el-Fna. The Riad is surrounded not only with great restaurants but with finely curated shops.
